BRIDGET HANNA

Bridget Hanna has dedicated more than 42 years of distinguished public service to the Ascension Parish Clerk of Court's Office. she began her career as a Court Minute Clerk, was promoted to Supervisor in 1989, and advanced to Chief Deputy Clerk in 2004.  On February 2, 2015, she made history as the first female Clerk of Court in Ascension Parish. Since then, she has been re-elected unopposed in 2015, 2019, and most recently 2023, earning a fourth term and reflecting the continued trust and confidence of the citizens she serves.

Bridget holds the designation of Certified Clerk of Court and is an active member of the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association, where she previously served two terms as President of the Board of Directors. She is also a Certified Elections Administrator (CERA) - the highest professional certification for election officials in the nation.

As Chief Elections Officer for Ascension Parish, Bridget oversees all facets of local elections and serves as President of the Ascension Parish Board of Election Supervisors. She also serves on the Louisiana State Board of Election Supervisors, contributing to election oversight at the statewide level.  Nationally, she represents Louisiana as a member of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission's Local Leadership Council.  In addition, she serves on the Louisiana Legislature's Voting System Commission and remains actively involved in advancing election integrity, modernization, and professional excellence at the parish, state, and national levels.

Her professional affiliations include the International Association of Government Officials, The Election Center, and the Property Records Industry Association. She is also an engaged community leader, serving on the Gonzales Area Foundation Board and participating in various committees for the 23rd Judicial District Court and the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association.  Bridget is an active member of the East Ascension Rotary Club, the Ascension Chamber of Commerce, and the Donaldsonville Chamber of Commerce.

A 2006 graduate of Leadership Ascension, Bridget has received numerous honors, including the Ascension Chamber of Commerce Individual of the Year (2009 and 2018), Ambassador of the Year (2009), New Rotarian of the Year (2011), and Rotarian of the Year by the East Ascension Rotary Club (2023). In 2020, she was recognized as a female "Mover & Shaker" in Ascension Parish. Her past leadership roles including serving as Chairwoman of the Ascension Chamber of Commerce and President of the East Ascension Rotary Club.

A lifelong resident of Ascension Parish, Bridget resides in Saint Amant with her husband, Kevin.  They are proud parents of four children and grandparents to nine grandchildren.  They are members of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and remain deeply rooted in the community they proudly serve.
