TO THE CITIZENS OF ASCENSION PARISH:
Today our work family is mourning the passing of our boss and friend, Kermit Hart Bourque. Hart was a lifelong resident of Gonzales who played football for the LSU Tigers where he was a Chinese Bandit on the 1958 National Championship football team. He was elected Clerk of Court in 1964 and served until 2015 when he retired. He was a past president of the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association and served on numerous committees for the Association throughout his years as Clerk of Court. He was the greatest public servant and served as a mentor to us and to many of the Clerks of Court throughout the State of Louisiana. Hart was always there for his employees and took care of each of us like we were part of his family. We will never forget our many wonderful memories of the years spent with him and we will cherish those memories forever. Rest in Peace Mr. Hart. We love you!
